Let me shock you out of your box

Night Watch
When you’re in the middle of the ocean where there is no light pollution, it feels as if the Milky Way is falling down to earth. Being so close to the stars gives me a strong sense of order in the Universe. The grandeur and timelessness of such expansion makes me feel small and my struggles and worries insignificant. Gathering of stuff seems insignificant.

Out of the box thinking has been around for a while. It is a metaphor that means to think differently, unconventionally, creative or from a new perspective. This phrase often refers to novel or creative thinking.

It’s a cliche — “I need someone who thinks out of the box.

What does it mean?

What is out of the box thinking anyway, and what’s so great about it? Thinking within a certain frame of reference is thinking inside the box. It is thinking within a certain parameter. “Here are the facts, here’s the problem. Let’s look at solutions A, B and C and pick the best one.” In business this is very often the way things are done. It is based upon logic, rational and proven methods.

Left brain thinking can get you from A to B, but using your imagination can get you everywhere. That is where creativity comes into play.

Let us improve.

We could be tons more innovative than we are, if we’d just acknowledge the fact that traditional American business isn’t based on the idea of solving complex problems in clever ways. Staying inside the box, you wouldn’t overcome an obstacle or save the day for your customer, but you’d calculate your loss and move on. That’s what most people would do in a challenging situation, and that’s why most people are in the box problem-solvers. They are only using there left brain, because they do not know any better. You know you need creative thinking skills but you don’t know where to get them.

Creative thinking is for artists, you say, but this is not true.

You don’t have to become an artist. I am an artist and I can show you the way.

I have something for you. It is a basic drawing class and everybody can learn how to do this. By meticulously following the steps as shown in the video’s you can learn to draw accurately and realistically. You don’t have to become an artist, nor frame your results. It is not about the drawing, it is about the new wires inside of your brain that you are connecting the dots differently.

What am I going to get from this course? The ability of creating a new world.

What others are saying...

Jacobina’s ability to explain something complicated to an audience who is not familiar with the subject is excellent. Her great organizational skills and her outgoing personality have made her a tremendous asset to our club. She is a great instructor, a reliable and responsible person.

I would highly recommend Jacobina’s On-line Drawing classes. I had a very satisfying and rewarding experience. She is very easy to work with and I learned so much in such a short period of time, online from Boston when we were in lock-down mode.

Jacobina gives clear and detailed instructions for each lesson, actually drawing the object in front of you — almost like a practice run!  The lessons build on one-another so you see progress week after week.

I learned techniques to quiet the critical left brain and ease into focusing my mind on just drawing the lines and shapes that I could see.I surprised myself by how good my pictures/drawings came out by using Jacobina’s techniques and drawing template / view finder. Carol Weintraub
